What do you think about becoming a one minute millionaire? Become a millionaire in a minute? It sounds crazy. Even so, it can happen to you.

Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen are authors of "The one Minute Millionaire". They know better than anyone what it takes to become rich. They know that it takes money to make money, so that the worst thing you can do with income is spend it. They also know that it only takes a little bit of money to make a whole lot of money.

Depending on how you think about money and how wealthy you want to become, your personal development program may not have much spending cash at all. When you begin your path towards joining the millionaire club, this is a normal stage of development. As you will see, what looks like "poor" on the outside may in fact be "rich" on the inside.

How can you be rich and poor at the same time? Well, it all depends on how you count your money.

When most people think about how much money they have, they look at the balance of their bank account. What the actually tells you, though, is how much cash you have... and cash and money aren't quite the same thing. Rich people think of "net worth" as the way to count their money. There are four different factors that go into your net worth. They are:

• Income
  
• Savings
  
• Investments
  
• Simplification

Income refers to the actual cash you bring in - this is where the bank account comes in handy. But it's just one part of the equation.

Savings is all the money you have stashed away - and it's an important part of any responsible financial plan to have some.

Investments refers to any stocks, bonds, business, or ventures you're involved in. If you have money put into something (like a business) and can reasonably assume that you will get it back, then it counts towards your net worth.

Simplification means choosing ways to live that save you money. It is an especially important part of the process of creating wealth while you're getting started. Perhaps it means cutting down the number of cars your family drives, so you can invest that money in a business instead. Or perhaps it means giving up an extravagant vacation, and using the money as a down payment on a piece of property.

Instead of having fun now, you will use your money to create money. The better you are at investing, the faster your money will grow. The faster your money grows, the more quickly you become rich. Once you pass a point of having a comfortable amount of money to play with and have learned how to choose your investments, you will become a virtual money magnet.
