Poor people, on the other hand, tend to be uncomfortable selling. They might have wonderful ideas and designs, but without the ability or drive to sell them, they won't ever make profit from their inventions.

You're in the midst of creating new thought patterns. Don't be hard on yourself if you catch your brain processing thoughts in the old ways. Simply pat yourself on the back for noticing, and choose to re-direct your thoughts with your new peak potential habits.

If you want to be wealthy, you need to sell. Period. That's true whether you're selling a product, a service, or yourself. How will people know you do great work if you don't promote yourself?

Why do some people dislike selling? For some, it's because they have been the target of a "hard" sell, from someone who refused to take no for an answer. Or perhaps someone rejected them when they were the one doing the selling, and they fear being rejected again. Or perhaps their folks told them it was wrong to "toot your own horn".

Perhaps they simply think selling is beneath them. Some people do.

Regardless of the reason, the truth to accumulating wealth is as simple as this: if you don't promote, you won't sell. If you don't sell, you won't succeed. Whatever reason might hold you back from selling, now is the time to identify it, deal with it, and build a new attitude.

Even if you think your product or service is so incredible that people will be beating down your door for it, the fact of the matter is that the market is glutted with all kind of products and services, good and bad. Your great product is competing with several other great products. As the peak potentials seminar teaches, you simply must promote yours if you want to grow your business.

If you still have concerns selling and promoting, it's time to take a look at your product. Does it have value? Will it improve the lives of your customers? Are you doing a good thing for them by selling this product? If so, take some time to really think about that.

• Rate what you have to offer on a scale of 1 to 10 (1=lowest, 10= highest)
  
• Is your rating 6 or below? Time to dump it and find a better product!
  
• Is your rating 7-9? Time to find a way to improve it so you are offering more value.
  
• Is your rating 10? Time to stop reading... and start selling!
